Invenio Strategies Co-Founder Ed Gehres leverages over 25 years of experience as an advocate, trial attorney, and organizational leader with a distinct focus on the litigation finance landscape.

Ed brings a unique 360 degree view of the marketplace to his work in litigation finance. He has been a litigator on both sides, a transactional lawyer for all sides, and an advisor on distressed situations and in preparing firms for large-scale debt capital raises. Early in his career he was a defense lawyer on large mass tort and complex commercial cases. He has represented plaintiffs in mass torts, civil rights, clergy abuse, ESG-related claims, and large-scale commercial matters. He also served as General Counsel of a global investment platform with multiple litigation finance investments in law firms, single claims, medical liens, pre-settlement funding, and claims processing businesses. In this role, Ed sat on the underwriting committee for large litigation finance transactions and served a business role on critical questions of transaction.
